Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
We had a fantastic first day of IAR Testing this past Tuesday! I am incredibly proud of how hard our students worked; their focus and dedication to their assessments were truly impressive.
🥤 Celebrating Today's Success
To celebrate that hard work, every student who took their time and completed both tests on Tuesday received a special soda treat during lunch today! It was a well-deserved reward for a job well done.
🚀 Looking Ahead: Tomorrow (Thursday)
Tomorrow, we will move on to Test #2 for both Math and English. To help our students perform their best, please keep the following in mind:
Rest Up: A good night’s sleep is the best fuel for a sharp brain.
Prompt Arrival: Please ensure students arrive at school on time so we can start our sessions without distractions.
Attendance is Imperative: It is vital that every student is present to stay on track with our testing schedule.
🎁 A "BIG" Incentive
I have something BIG planned on Friday for students who attend school and complete their assessments tomorrow. Trust me—you definitely don’t want to miss out on what’s coming next!
Keep up the amazing momentum, everyone. I can't wait to see those smiling faces ready to conquer Day 2 tomorrow morning!
Best regards,
Principal Joost

Find those Chargers! Students have to have their chargers to ensure that they can complete their state test without their computer dying! Unfortunately, we do not have extras. All students were given chargers at the beginning of the year when they received Chromebooks. Please bring them to school today- testing starts promptly at 8:15. Failure to complete the State Assessment due to chargers will exclude them from our daily rewards and activities.
Dear Families,
I hope you all had a restful, rejuvenating Spring Break and enjoyed the beautiful weather! We are so excited to see our students back in the classroom tomorrow. As we head into the final stretch of the school year, please remember that learning starts at 8:00 AM sharp!
📝 State Testing (IAR)
This week and next, students will be participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). Because of this, consistent attendance is "ultra-important" to ensure every student has the time and support they need to do their best.
💻 Chromebook & Charger Reminder
To ensure all devices are fully charged and ready for testing, students will be keeping their Chromebooks at school for the duration of this week and the first part of next week.
Action Item: Please make sure your child brings their Chromebook charger to school tomorrow. We will keep them safely in the classroom to ensure no one is met with a dead battery on testing day!
🌟 Testing Tips for Success
To help our students feel confident and focused during the IAR, we suggest the following:
Early to Bed: A full night’s rest is the best way to ensure students are alert and ready to focus.
Fuel Up: A healthy, protein-filled breakfast helps keep their energy levels steady throughout the morning.
On-Time Arrival: Arriving by 8:00 AM allows students to settle in and start their day without feeling rushed or anxious.
Words of Encouragement: A quick "you've got this!" or "just do your best" goes a long way in easing testing jitters.
Thank you for your continued support in making this a successful finish to the year. Let’s make it a great 4th Quarter!
