Congratulations to 4x200meter relay team comprised of Keyon Horton Bryson Tate Jeremiah Williams Trident Barnes. They earned 5th place at the recent Indoor Meet held at Illinois College.

Congratulations to the following Lanphier Wrestlers: Phoenix Criss who placed 2nd at last weekends sectional and has advanced to the state tournament for the 2nd consecutive year! We can't wait until State! We also want to say how proud we are of Alliyah Powell, Tahj Morenz & Anthony Steskal also competed at the sectional level.

Thanks to one of our community sponsors, our Life Skills class had a fun filled day of learning with Valentine's lunch and treats! They had a pizza party, played some fun games, and everyone got a Valentine bag!

There will be a mandatory softball meeting on Thursday, February 19th for any girl interested in playing softball this year, in room 2-006 directly after school to learn about tryout information. Tryouts start Monday, February 23rd. Please plan to attend on Thursday and if you can't make it, please talk to Mr. Weir.

Ms. Miller’s freshman biology students had an engaging and hands-on experience exploring evolution today. Through interactive investigative stations, students examined multiple lines of evidence that support evolutionary theory. The station-based format encouraged meaningful collaboration and critical thinking, and students demonstrated a strong understanding of the lesson objectives by the end of class.

The Lanphier Lady Lions took a jaunt over to Champaign to watch the Women's Fighting Illini Basketball game! They had an amazing experience and watched a fast paced NCAA game.

Mr. Metzke took a group of students to Macomb today to visit Western Illinois University! Students toured campus, visited classroom buildings, and dorms to see what life is like as a Leatherneck.

Girls Track & Field Practice has started. Any girls interested practice is Monday thru Friday from 3:30pm-5:15pm. See Coach Roddrick Napier or Coach Tony Daniel.

Ms. Jurgen's Art class had the opportunity today to visit the Springfield Art Association to learn about glassworks. Students were able to each make a glass flower in the glass studio. We would like to thank the SAA for allowing this incredible opportunity to our students. They had a great time learning and learning how to create a new form of art!

Please join us for Senior Night for our Lady Lions tomorrow, Thursday, February 5th! We will honor our Lady Lion, Lovely! Ceremony should step off around 6:45 p.m. come pack the Lion's Den and support the team!

Just a heads up!!

For anyone planning to attend tonight's Varsity only Lady Lions basketball game at Jacksonville, here's some info.

Varsity Start time is 6 p.m.
(There is no JV game tonight)

The game will be played at the historic Jacksonville Bowl, located in downtown Jacksonville at 215 S Church St.

They will open the doors to the public at 5 p.m. tonight. They will sell cash tickets at the door as usual, but they do have an electronic option as well. The link is below in case anyone prefers that method.
