Illinois High School Association (IHSA) partner, Planet Fitness, has announced that it will provide free access to its fitness clubs in Illinois to high school students throughout the summer of 2026.
Registration for the Planet Fitness Summer Pass ’26 program is available at any Planet Fitness club or online at planetfitness.com/summerpass . Individuals under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to register.

The countdown to a new school year is on, and District 186 is excited to welcome students, families, staff, and community members to the 2nd Annual Community Back-to-School Event on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The Community Back-to-School Event serves as a one-stop destination for families preparing for the upcoming school year while strengthening connections between schools, families, and the community.

Lanphier High School's Summer School Program has reached capacity, and we are unable to accept additional students at this time.
Families who have not previously registered their student for summer school should not bring students to the building expecting to enroll on-site, as we do not have available seats.
Students who still need credit recovery opportunities should contact their assigned Assistant Principal to discuss options and make any necessary schedule adjustments for the 2026–2027 school year.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide the best possible learning environment for all students enrolled in our summer program.

Today we celebrated two of our awesome Senior students!

Students in Ms. McNichols’s class recently put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test during an Egg Drop Challenge. Students designed and built protective contraptions intended to keep an egg from breaking after being dropped from the top of the stairs.
Through the activity, students explored important physics and engineering concepts including gravity, force, impact, velocity, momentum, cushioning, and energy absorption. Students worked to design containers that could distribute force and reduce the impact on the egg during the fall.
It was great to see students applying science concepts in a hands-on and engaging way while testing their designs and learning through experimentation.
We'd like to report everyone's eggs made it safely back to the classroom!
Thank you to all of our students who participated in the Lanphier Talent Show! We are incredibly proud of the courage, creativity, and talent our students shared on stage. From music and singing to performances and entertainment, it was wonderful to see so many students showcase their gifts and support one another.
A special thank you to Mr. Napier, Ms. Zake, and Ms. Rockwell for their dedication, encouragement, and hard work in helping organize such a wonderful event for our students and school community.
We also appreciate all of the families, staff members, and supporters who attended and cheered on our students. Lanphier is filled with talented young people, and it was great to celebrate them together.
