
The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln has announced their 2023 scholarship program that offers 40 different post-secondary scholarships!!
Last year, more than $205,000 was awarded in scholarships and scholarship renewals, and the Community Foundation scholarship program has awarded a cumulative amount that tops $1.8 million!!!

Boys/ Girls City Tournament Information : Presale tickets may be purchased for $5 per night at any participating high school's main office according to the following schedule:
Jan. 23 -8:00- 4:00 p.m.
Jan. 24 -8:00- 4:00 p.m.
Jan. 25 -8:00- 4:00 P.M.
Jan. 26 -8:00 - 12:30 P.M. (Thurs. game tickets)
8:00 - 4 P.M. (Fri and Sat game tickets)
Jan. 27 -8:00 - 12:30 P.M. (Fri and Sat game tickets)
All tickets are $6.00 when purchased at the BOS Center, and are available the night of each game beginning at 5:00 PM.


2023 City Tournament is right around the corner! See the seeds for the girls and boys city tournament set to take place January 25-28th!


Enos Elementary students were engaged and learning the origins of Chanukah. Students were given dreidels and taught how to play! Students were answering trivia questions and showing off their skills to Principal Claudia Johnson.


Buddy made it through the seven levels of the Candy Cane Forest, through the sea of Swirly-Twirly Gum Drops, and walked through the Lincoln Tunnel to get to Mrs. Barnard’s kindergarten classroom at Ridgely!
He read us his book, taught us the Code of the Elves, and we had a snowball fight!



Owen Marsh Elementary is very creative!! They celebrated their head custodian, Mr. John Connor by creating him a season's cleaning holiday door!!

The first grade students at Ridgely Elementary had the opportunity to participate in the Radio Readers Program. Jane Cochran from WTAX came and read a story & brought the students copies of the book to take home.



Graham Elementary started the day off with some extra cheer thanks to Principal Mr. Hood! ❤️🎄 His snazzy suit and good tunes helped welcome the students to start their Friday off right!


Wilcox Elementary hosted their Winter Wonderland Family Night on Thursday. There were several different activities and crafts throughout the hallways. The photo booth was a crowd pleaser! The event was well attended and fun was had by all!

It was a collaboration day for middle school students selected to attend our middle school student voice session. Students were able to share what they liked about their schedule and course selection. They also shared suggestions to improve education in District 186.



Grant Middle School celebrated 7th & 8th graders who met or exceeded the 2022 Illinois Assessment Readiness (IAR). Students were gifted a shirt that boldly stated, I WAS READY!

Jefferson Middle School boys basketball team made a visit out to @UISedu to catch a college basketball game. It was a great team bonding experience and opportunity for the kids to see a college game firsthand.


Teacher of visually impaired, Karen Epley, was recently published by “Paths to Literacy” through Perkins School for the Blind. Karen shared a creative DIY light-up activity to use with students. Way to go Karen! Thank you for sharing your expertise with other educators!

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. The play will be located in SHS’s Schnirring Auditorium on December 2nd & 3rd at 7:00pm, and December 4th at 2:00pm.


Black Hawk Family Thanksgiving was a success! Students & staff enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast together at lunch on beautifully decorated tables! Thank you Ms. Brandi and Ms. Jen for cooking a heart felt meal!

Lincoln Library staff came to Lincoln Magnet School to issue a new, or renew, an existing Lincoln Library card. The Lincoln Library is willing & excited to provide this service & our staff was very appreciative of the quick and easy process right here in the building!
